Brechin

The ancient City of Brechin lies midway between Dundee and Aberdeen in the midst of the glorious scenery of the Angus coastline and glens. The magnificent Cathedral was built in the 13th century and its Round Tower dates from the 11th century.

Brechin is a very historic place and we wish to encourage more visitors. The memorial and the display at the Town House Museum will enhance the attraction of a visit to Brechin. The Town House is partly renovated and further work to complete this is due to start in late 2007.

Brechin is a good base for hill-walkers and climbers; great fishing rivers including the North and South Esks are also within the county. The many fine golf courses within easy travelling distance include the Open venues of Carnoustie and St. Andrews. Steam enthusiasts visit Brechin in their thousands to enjoy the Caledonian Railway.
